SPC is indeed cheaper when you can get up to 10% discount... just went to pump at Pasir Panjang last night... cost of petrol is abt 82 bucks after 10% discount... they give free car wash coupon (worth $6) and free body shine (worth $5) for petrol above 80 bucks... come to think of it, quite worth it if pump there as can get free car wash... but then, limited time only...

What is good about Caltex?

 

I am using Caltex 'cos it is giving me 15% discount + (every 300pts = $10 petrol = 3.3%).

Calculated all as 18.3 %

 

PS: 15% for being a company under Temasek Holdings.

 

 

i also just apply for the Caltex card (Me under Temasek Holdings), but a bit blur leh...

 

so no need to apply for credit card liao right? since it paying via giro.

If you have the CITIBANK Dividend card, you will get additional 5% discount for all petrol on top of prevailing petrol station discount. Meaning >>> 5% (cred card) + 5%(station). 10% no matter what station you like.

Yes.. it is. 5% on top of station discount.

 

If you are with Esso, every 750points earns you $30 discount on petrol as well + 5% station discount + 5% Credit card rebates.

I see but there is a catch. The additional 5% is cash back which can only be obtained when one has accumulated $50 in a quarter.

yep. i would recommend to consolidate bills like telco bills..etc.. to it.

 

then u not only have rebates on petrol, u can have rebates on others as well like dining and groceries.

 

I have no issue getting more the $50 in rebates as additional money for me in cheque they sent. How does that feel? a credit card company send you a cheque instead of a bill?

Eh do u find that SPC the milleage not as good huh. Yes even it gives more discount and u buy cheaper petrol compared to shell for example. Somehow i find that SPC petrol doesnt travel as far...

 

Same tot. I get 8+ km/L from SPC 95. After that i change to shell, i get 12+ km/L from Shell 95. I still get the same FC after a few pumps from Shell. I would like to take back my words on civic FD poor FC. I'm naive to think tat all petrol is the same.

anyone else encounter this? I am on SPC, used to be on Shell, no perceptible difference leh...

ocbc credit card better ... additional 5% on caltex, and you still earn 2X ocbc pts .... citibank dividend card dont have rewards pts, juz 5% rebates.

there is an additional 3% off.. saw it on my bill... so its station 5%, cashback 5%, and another 3% off... then plus the $30 redeemed with 750 pts.... for esso.....
