Which pump gives better rewards

If I'm not wrong, the Udrive does not give you any smiles points right? It would also mean that there is no free petrol redemption as well. Is it more worth it to get the discounts straight?

You can link to it through NTUC main website. However, do take note, the Udrive membership card only entitles you to certain benefits. They would ask you to print it out to enjoy the benefits. These benefits do not include the 15% rebate. You nned to apply the UDrive Citibank Mobil/Esso card and then you can use that to enjoy the 15%.

To apply for this card, you have to be a Udrive member first, as well as becoming an NTUC member, Then only you can be elgible to apply for the mobil/esso citibank card with the U Drive logo printed on it. It looks just like the ordinary mobil/esso card except for the extra logo.

The premium for the NTUC card is about $8 per month if I remember correctly. It has a bit of insurance coverage though. Henceforth, at the end of the day, if you do not really pump a lot of petrol, it might not work out to be worthwhile if you do not need the extra insurance coverage or you go to Cold Storage or other supermarkets more than NTUC for your groceries.

caltex now is $1.25 for 1 points.

nope, checked ocbc credit card latest promotions ... every $1 spent on fuel earn you 1.25 thanks points.

Couple of days ago, I redeem a $40 voucher at Caltex. Saw a sign that says every $50 pump, you get 20% more points. I wonder if this on top of ocbc credit card payment $1 = 1.25 points.

Haha...yah...that's the intial put off for me as well. If not because of the fact that somehow or rather Caltex doesn't work that well for me in terms of fuel efficiency, I would not have kept using Mobil. So far only Mobil and Shell seemed to be ok. When I change to Caltex, the mileage dropped by about 10-15%. I mean, of course if you want to have the link points as well from NTUC, then it is quite ok to get the Udrive Mobil/Esso card. IF not, I would think Citibank Dividend is actually one of the best around.

since both caltex and esson are giving 1 pt for $1.25, comparing their reward for petrol redemption, caltex gives $40 voucher for 1200pts but esson gives $30 for mere 750pts.

in addition, for esson, if u pump >250/mth, you get extra 30%pts.

looking just at this, esson is a bit more value for $$ [thumbsup]
