i don't care even if it's true.

with air freshner, aircon system suffers (assuming what u heard is right).

without air freshner, you suffer.

which one u choose?

even not alibaba also suffer. over years of driving, i realised that air freshener only masks the smell in the car but after the smell gets backflow into the system, suffer like hell... they try to sell, any brands, its pretty much the same. [:(] i no longer uses freshener, i find it so much better....if not any smell will end up like stinky sour.

i use to open every thing under hot sun, use the hottest mode of the temperature and highest fan to let it run for abt 10 mins or so....

Most air fresheners are designed to make the air more pleasant-smelling. Some claim to have beneficial health effects - i take it with a pinch of salt. I prefer not to use any, but just change my aircon filter regularly + have an odor absorber mat on the dashboard. No smell is the best smell [flowerface]

care to explain how does the smell get 'backflow' into the system? With the aircon on, the air is blowing out of the vent... how does the smell gets in?

Dear all,

if u intend to keep your car for long, don't ever use it.

but if u are someone who change car every 1-2 year, by all means enjoy such comfort.

it is very true it will screw up your air-con system - have experienced in my previous conti car and current new korean car. so much to tell you...(only when things go wrong, then u can be judge for yourself).

but if u are a die hard fan for air freshner, perhaps following routine will help to curb the side effect. always wind down the window for few mins in the morning when u start to move out your car. off your aircon a few minutes before u shut your engine.

as i am not so discipline to maintain such routine i rather such comfort derive from air freshner.

i do not know if i am technically correct, liquid air freshner will evaporate if u park under hot sun hence the moment u start the aircon - the system will need to draw in the hot air (polluted with the evaporated freshner) from interior of the car and this will trap inside the system.

ha ha ha...sorry sorry, might have used the wrong term, technically, it shouldn't "backflow" [:p][laugh] ... What i mean is that the smell of the freshener will tend to stay due to the confine space. with the warm and humid surrounding in the car, bacteria will starts to form with the microbes thereby creating an odour. Therefore, no matter what brand u use, its the same. u will need chemical treatment to remove the smell... [;)]
