Elfenstar 3rd Gear August 18, 2007 Share August 18, 2007 Is it a mechanical or electrical gauge. If mechanical check that the hose isnt kinked. If electrical check the electrical connections (preferably test to see if the gauge is working properly). One ques though, does the car feel any different? Elfenstar 3rd Gear August 18, 2007 Share August 18, 2007 before you do that check the vacuum hose running from the engine bay to the gauge. Sometimes it kinks in a way that it still allows air to pass through till a certain pressure then its sucked shut preventing the gauge from reading any lower. Its actually quite common with cheap hoses.
