Lets say your wife is pregnant and both of you discover, to your horror, that the baby will be or rather is mentally challenged/suffers from downs syndrome/etc.

Would you abort the baby or continue with the birth?

Please do not bring in religion.

I will do so else well for the reason you mentioned plus:

1) Don't want parents to suffer

2) Bring liability to society (this reason is a 100% flame bait)

I would choose to abort, religious & conscience issues aside. Reason being that I would not want my child to suffer at the hands of people in this increasingly cruel society. I mean, to have my child labelled as "the weird kid" is bearable for me, but to be shunned & bullied by his/her peers would definitely break my heart. Would the child even know he's not normal & feel unhappiness or despair? Can the child communicate these feelings? If as a parent I cannot be aware of how the child feels, would I be able to help & comfort him? Can I help to ease his suffering? All these questions would weigh heavily on my mind.

If I have to bring a child into this world where he would have to suffer like this, then I'm sorry, I'd rather not do it.

I suppose you're not married .

The gynae will be able to do test to proof it to the parents....you wanna trust the science or the heaven up there ?

Sometime this kind of uncalculated risk is not warranted , it is a responsibility for life my friend.... [bigcry]
