Pocus Turbocharged September 29, 2007 Share September 29, 2007 Hmm...swifts are more prone to oversteering than understeering due to the wheelbase... Could be other reasons.... Anyway, just drive safety...and it applies to ALL cars...

Applecow Neutral Newbie December 10, 2007 Share December 10, 2007 Hi guys, can anyone help me out here? I can't decide between a 1.2 and 1.5 swift. Has to be auto since my mum can't drive a manual. I was going to go for the 1.5 already but the new 1.2 sure looks nice. Just worried that it might be too underpowered for its weight. I usually drive alone... once in a while will ferry some friends around.
Steadyla Neutral Newbie December 10, 2007 Author Share December 10, 2007 I am driving a 1.2 XG Auto and am very happy with it so far. 1.2XG seems underpowered to you but it performs as good as a 1.5. Just that it is on CVT and the pick-up will be slightly laggy. You just have to change the paper filter to cotton one and this little engine pick-up will come to life. I can climb benjamin sheares bridge easily at slightly above 3krpm even with full load on board. the pick-up from 70 to 140 is shocking for such a small car and i am impressed. pm me if you need more information. cheers! Gingerbreadman Neutral Newbie December 11, 2007 Share December 11, 2007 i wonder how is the FC of the 1.2 auto...ijjit high?
Steadyla Neutral Newbie December 11, 2007 Author Share December 11, 2007 13 to 13.5 during run in. i manage to get 14.3 for one tank of v-power. It should be better after i change it to fully syn engine oil. cheers
Applecow Neutral Newbie December 11, 2007 Share December 11, 2007 Steadyla, I called your friend. He's very polite and helpful. He quoted me $53988 4 bids guaranteed COE with $12k rebate. For white 1.2A XG have to wait 2 months. is that good?
Steadyla Neutral Newbie December 11, 2007 Author Share December 11, 2007 wah so expensive ah....u search around somemore and compare again.
Rickster 5th Gear December 11, 2007 Share December 11, 2007 hmm...what i heard about the sports is the FC's about 8-9km/L. don't if it is true... Wa, cannot be true lar...8-9km/l is quite similar to the FC of RX8 or a turbo charged 2-2.5L car!
Rickster 5th Gear December 11, 2007 Share December 11, 2007 Actually, mineral oil or syn oil does not make much difference to the FC unless the syn oil u r using are those very thin ones like in W30 range.
