Need advice - Knocking sounds when braking lightly

Hi guys,

Need some advice on my Kia Rio 1.5 (41km mileage - slightly more than 3 years).

Recently I heard knocking sounds in front of my car when I am braking easy (light pressing) to a slow stop and I suspect its my front right disc brake.

It will be like tock tock tock x times (quite rhythmic and evenly distributed sound) and stops when the vehicle stops to stationary.

It doesn't seem happen when I brake harder perhaps just a single tock sound before car halts.

What could be wrong? Brake pads (have not changed yet)? Rotor warped (i dont feel the vehicle wobbling during breaking though)?

Can someone also recommend a trusted ws to check this (eastern side) cos I have no contacts at the moment? Check all 4 to be safe?

Thanks for reading.

Hi, it seems to me like your brake pads is already worn out, pls check it out asap. brakes & tyres are the most important things all drivers' have to look out for. Sorry I dun hv any ws contacts in the east but if you want, you may want to try it out at amk autopoint. [drivingcar]

Did you changed your rims recently? Did you sent your car for serv recently?

Did you changed anything to your brakes recently?

Changed my rims last year (oct)... just did my 40k servicing last month just before 3rd warrenty over.

Did nothing to my brakes till this morning, this issue just surfaced recently.

Sent my car to be checked and serviced all 4 brakes (disc / drums), comment was that the pads look ok and is still very usable - Not even half used. The disc rotors are not warped according to them though.

The mechs just sand/buff up the pads and service the brakes.

The sounds knocking sound is non-existant now, hopefully it is resolved.

More experiences and views are appreciated.

Will update this thread again.
