Apollo 1st Gear August 3, 2007 Author Share August 3, 2007 http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin.../291913/1/.html Mattel Singapore recalls 4 of its China-made products By Foo Siew Shyan, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 02 August 2007 2316 hrs SINGAPORE: Toy maker Mattel Singapore has recalled four of its products from shops here. The voluntary move comes after one of its contract manufacturers in China was found to have made toys with paint that contained a small amount of lead. China, however, insists that its exports are "99 percent" safe. In the US, Mattel's subsidiary Fisher-Price has already recalled close to a million of these toys. Australia is making a similar move. In Singapore, the affected toys are limited to Sesame Street Shape Sorter, Barney Best Manners Phone, Dora's House Figure and Dora's Talking House. Mattel says these four products are the only ones, among the hundreds affected, that have been exported to Singapore and only a small quantity of these toys is available here. The recall affects products manufactured from 19 April to 6 July this year. Those who have bought the toys will get a full refund. pls do not discard them... send them back. it's lead tat killed the roman empire. we wun want tat to happen to ............
