Neutral Newbie

Hi all,

Intending to get my bicycles serviced by shops,01 Hardtail(Specialized Stumpjumper) & 01 Full Sus(Mountain Cycle San Andreas).

Its been a while since i cycled, need to fully service the shocks and drivetrain especially.

Was @ Chinatown, went to H*p Le**g b4 going to Sheng Siong nearby. Was shocked to hear servicing for Front shocks(for my Rock Shox Psylo) alone costs a Whoopping $140 & service of drivetrain is $80(Full Sus),$60(Hardtail).

Is this pricing normal?

cheers!!

Hup Leong prices are now way overpriced.

When they first started at those shop houses at Tiong Bahru, they catered to all cyclists, even the low end ones. One could purchase those China bicycles there too. Servicing charges were very reasonable.

When they shifted to the current premises opp the Sub Court, they catered more to the upper end cycling crowd, with an increase in prices across the board. It is cheaper to buy those $68 18 speed mountain bikes from Carrefour than Hup Leong.

The son has taken over the business while the father who started the business just watches over him.

I have PM you the contact of another bicycle shop at Farrer Rd that is much much cheaper than Hup Leong with no compromise in quality and service standards.
