I gotten the white Lancer EX , just one day on the road, can see all the dust particles settle on it.

the white is nice...so far i saw 2 white on the road already. one is parking at the same mscp as my CMI car....! except for C&C servicing package..!

Oh, really? Hmm... could be I read wrongly from the manual. If I happen to go down to stockist place, I double check again.

It is confirmed using the 4A91 engine in the 1.5L Lancer EX, similar engine used in the Colt. I saw from my car center pillar at the driver door, has a insignia, emblem claiming it is "4A91" engine code.

I am not sure any other part of the world got 1.5L Lancer. It's possible that 1.5L only available to SG and MY market. Gotta find out more on that.

 

The Lancer 1.5L is also for the European market. Unlike the Civic FD 1.6L which KM request Honda JP to customise for Singapore market only.

Hey sportster, I got the white EX sports as well. Just curious, is the cooled glove box working as advertised for you? Its not cold at all. Am I doing something wrong or does it suck?

Below comments are not meant for comparing Class to Class but just a Gut feel.

 

Size / Space: 9 / 10

BIG !!!!

Internal Space is more Roomy than even our Mark X. Something like Camry.

 

Power: 4 / 10

Power? Civic will be smiling at me everytime.

Felt that my previous Galant is even more Torquey than this 2.0L Mivec Lancer, Dunno why? One of the reason should be the CVT.

Super Noisy Rattling Pick Up - Very Obvious and gets on my Nerve.

Never have I driven a Car with such Noisy Pick Up !

 

Design: 6 / 10

Honestly, the real thing doesn't look like Galant.. it has the head of a Volvo instead. IMHO, old Galant Looks nicer and more sleek.

 

Price: +/- $70K

 

Other Comments: PLastic that they used inside the ride is really really 'PLastic'

Is it becos u never open the vent?Y'day i went test drive n the glove compartment is damn cold.FYI,just above the compartment (when u opened it up) is when the vent fan is located n u can actually twist it left or right to open/shut the vent.

Its kinda hidden fr ur eye level n i didnt saw it too untill my gf point it out to me asking what is it.

Eh. Of course i did open the vent. The vent inside the glove compartment and on the top right? Um, my dad drove the car out, later I go check whats wrong again.

I also tested Lancer GT(M), felt power is OK lah

Here is my brief FR on the 1.5 after test driving y'day:

Exterior: Need not say more

Interior: No cruise ctrl,no paddle shift,gear shift is simpler looking without the '+' & '-' sign n no digital reverse sensor display. Apart fr that, not much difference compared to the higher end model. A very spacious car with plenty of leg room at the rear.

Performance: Quite acceptable even though its 1.3ton with 3 rear pax n half tank of petrol. Quite a smooth ride all the way, good handling, turning radius is impressive despite the size, suspension is abit soft but nevertheless, i find it a rather comfortable ride sitting back or front without any significant engine noise n road noise. But 1 thing i did discovered is the noise somewhere from the under carriage whenever i step on the acc...its like a mid brass high pitch sound. SE claimed its from the exhaust but its difficult to pin point the location...even when i test drove the GT, that same sound can be heard.

Verdict: Overall, quite a good family car if space n looks r in ur mind but if u got a boy racer concept, the 1.5 is definitely not the right car for u even though it does score pretty high in the looks dept.

 

Now its countdown to the Taka road show n hopefully, there will be good promo to let me make up my mind double time.
