Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear August 6, 2007 Share August 6, 2007 (edited) The one i got is not very big, but I found them adjusting better as compare to the bigger tetra that I got. Now they used to the environment and not as shy as before. So whenever I go over, they thought food coming and start swimming/gather in front of me, nice Edited August 6, 2007 by Ahyoo2002

Zorloh Neutral Newbie August 6, 2007 Share August 6, 2007 Actually Cardinals are more hardy (to different water condition) than Neon Tetras but live span is the opposite. As long as the condition & climate of water is conducive to the Tetras, baby (cardinal & neon) tetras can live around for 2~4yrs. Some claimed 5yrs, but I'm not sure of that. Before you buy or mix any fishes, do read up. Below are some of the URL that are useful. Actually I think any fish can also be hardy. Depend on you. Lasy person like me could keep my fish in the tank until like cannot see them anymore because full of algae, sxxt etc. and even smell. Still my guppies, my oscar and even my koi in plastic large container can survive. Cruelty huh? I have stopped keeping them.
Apollo 1st Gear August 6, 2007 Share August 6, 2007 too many algae becos of too much lighting or too much nutrient or both. reduce lighting to under 6 hours if u hv outdoor light coming in. add anti algae and do water change to reduce nutrient. but control water change as too much water change the fishes cannot tahan also. tap water slightly high on the PH so best to try reduce it with PHminus. smell? rotting plants?
