nah... you can get a very good 42inch LCD/Plasma at 2 to 2.5k budget.

You just need to know where to buy and what to buy sly.gif

revive this thread when your CRT up lorry laugh.gif

BTW, burnt mark doesn't occurs these days as the technology have improved.. those are old grandmother stories from the initial generation of Plasma tv.

Even energy consumption of Plasma have come down and setting it at the correct mode will means it's just slightly higher than LCD..

Thanks for info, you seems prefer Plasma over LCD? sly.gif

Ya, when my CRT up lorry, will look for you for advisewink.gif......btw my CTV is very heavy (weigh 70+ Kg), need 2 strong man to "up" the lorry....can ask you to help???laugh.giflaugh.gif

Thanks bro sony, eh looking for primarily those brands, Jamo, Morel etc, heard it, e sound quality impressive & small cube good to mount on wall except the sub-woofer.

anyone got lobang pls share. I Like the Morel (made in Israel), good design & solid built first launched was $1.3K (5.1system), currently no promotion, (not willing to buy Morel now at $1.7K,), my budget abt $1.3K for a reasonably sound 5.1 speakers, AV receiver not included yet. [flowerface]

for cluster free and less headache for wiring, look at the yamaha sound bar..

Prob is, repairing a CRT is really ez and cheap nowadays.

but problem is that people rather buy new then repair coz CRT are cheaper as well, esp when there's extended warranty..

nah.. I'm just looking at the spec and the quality of picture whereby plasma is the better choice over LCD. but if we are going for 37 and below, then it's LCD..

Neutral Newbie

so i presume using the RCA cable to connect the digital box to the tv ----> produce better picture quality then using coaxial cable?

I did try and found it to be so, just want to be sure my eyes are not playing tricks on me.

Is there different grades of RCA cables?

Recently, one of my fren attended a workshop at one of our local top Research institute (not sure A*star related). One of the top researcher told the participants, as a researcher in Flat Panel Display, in OLED, LCD & Plasma, his preference is?? You want to guess?? No prize for the rite answer:

His personal top choice at current technology in terms of viewing picture quality for TV & fast action movie = PLASMA. HE bought a 50" PLasma TV.

OLED is actually better in terms of pics quality for TV & Fast action movie BUT currently, the life span of OLED is only 1000hrs not commercially ready unless it's 60,000hrs (if 60K hrs, it will be TOP CHOICE)

LCD, well, not for TV or fast action movie, as LCD is filtering & limited by refresh rate, very good for animation/CGI etc... That's why, in Malls, most LCD display cartoon /animation or CGI.

That's the comments/verdict by a top FPD research scientist working in top research institute

usually they wouldn't show live TV feed.

Some does but on request.

Who would expose their weakness when it come to marketing.

anyway, you pay for what you get. [:/]
