Conversion from An OPC To Normal Car.

Hi Guys, i would like to know more information about the conversion. Does anyone know how much do i have to pay and stuffs? Hope someone can give me some few pointers in how to go about it and more information on what do i have to take note of and etc.

 

One more question. Do i have to pay the "unused" portion of the OPC rebate back immediately? Or are there any installment plans etc etc.

Conversion beri easy mah. Just pay back pro-rated 17k in cash to LTA lor. Pay $100 conversaion fee and arrange for plate changing lor. Also top-up on the road tax.

 

this topic discuss till death liao. Can do a search and get more information in MCF. Or get direct from LTA website.

 

Oh lastly.....they want the rebate back in cash....cannot pay installment one. must pay in full whatever the pro-rated amount.

I just converted my OPC 2 months ago. Steps are as follows - call LTA to check with them how much you need to pay. They will calculate for you over the phone and tell you the: road tax top-up + Pro rated 17K rebate + 100 admin fee.

 

Then you prepare a cheque for that amount and go down to LTA with your:

 

- IC (car must be under your name)

- Car log card

- Insurance cert

- Current OPC road tax disc

- ...and of course, the cheque

 

They will do an update on their system and give you a letter of proof so that you have now 3 days grace to go any car workshop to change your car plate.

Hi, can i also know after conversion, did you check you log card? Is your ARF and COE back to normal?

 

I ask because the $17K is used to discount away the COE and then ARF.

 

So if my car originally COE 12K and ARF 16K, after the $17K rebate, my log card shows COE $0 and ARF 11K. Anyway, my question is if I convert back to normal car, will my log card show COE back to $12K and ARF 16K?
