Turtlekar 2nd Gear May 14, 2003 Share May 14, 2003 drop in low end (~2-2.5K) power and improve in >mid end IMHO, a SRI with proper heat shield will do that's not quite true....it depends on how u design the CAI
Typoerror Neutral Newbie May 14, 2003 Share May 14, 2003 any words of wisdom to share??...i would like to go into CAI without suffering low end ...from dyno graph of AEM CAI, low end is maintained with increase in mid and high end ...but rather ex...donno if DIY CAI can attain this kinda result.. S2P2 Neutral Newbie May 14, 2003 Share May 14, 2003 CAI should give you better low end
Turtlekar 2nd Gear May 14, 2003 Share May 14, 2003 (edited) CAI will give u good low and improved mid range....but definitely not the high end...cos it's relative to your compression ratio.....i done my car DIY stuff and throttle response is almost immediate improvement.....come down to the Friday meetup and i can show u how i done it btw, the dynograph is just some kind of commercial gimmick....they will always mentioned a hugh margin gain in term of bhp and torque, but how true??? u should know the answer rite.... Epsilon 2nd Gear May 14, 2003 Share May 14, 2003 so does CAI improve fuel consumption?
Turtlekar 2nd Gear May 14, 2003 Share May 14, 2003 i can only say slight and very marginal improvement....cos when there is more air going into your combustion chamber, u require less fuel.....that is where your O2 sensor does the work by feeding back info to your ECU and then to the fuel injector....but it will be a very mild one unless u wanna put in a airflow controller (SAFC) which control your mixture, either running on rich or lean..... Hkfung Neutral Newbie May 14, 2003 Share May 14, 2003 drop in low end (~2-2.5K) power and improve in >mid end IMHO, a SRI with proper heat shield will do that's not quite true....it depends on how u design the CAI i reason the lost of my low end is the removal of resonator box as shown in the pic..wat u reckon
