If you are looking for fuel efficiency, then you should not be travelling over 90km/h.

 

In fact, for most cars, the optimum speed should be around 80km/h.

from what u wrote, it seems like there's a BOY RACER inside you. and being a boy racer at heart, u drive dangerously, exiting E-way and entering sharp corner using NEUTRAL at 80km/h JUST TO SAVE FUEL.

 

 

YOU COULD HAVE USED ENGINE BRAKE.

 

 

but because u trust AWD so much (which i feel dont help much in E-braking), u endanger the lives of others on the road.

If one is looking at improving FC, then sharp turn at high speed is a big NO NO.

I dunno where u got your driving technic from but it's plain dangerous.

 

I know u like your AWD very much but do u really understand how it works as in what are the gears and components involved. These things are not bomb proof and they do fail if abused.

 

I do hope that u read up more to understand the limits of your car so that u would not endanger other's and your life.

I do not drive 60km/hr on E-way.

 

I just remember that by the time I enter 5th Gear, My speed is 60-65km/hr.

 

I will travel ard 95 km/hr on the E-way.

 

 

Currently I am trying to achieve 100km/hr just with the RPM @ 2000.

 

Always in search for better Fuel Efficiency method.

 

In fact I bought TS just to Find out, how to do it. This car is my 2nd car, I use it for experiment and service customer.

I do 15km/litre on my Yaris but my car's lighter than yours and it is not AWD.

 

Do a search on hypermilers and hypermiling for more fuel saving tips.

Ah, I see I see, read wrongly!

 

I used to get 12.5-13km/litre on a full tank launching briskly from each traffic light. Recently I switched to fuel economy driving style and have been posting 15+ km/litre FC. I do find that it is more relaxing rather than stressful, because I don't get so bothered by people blocking my rapid progress or cutting me off because I intended to drive slow anyway.

I choose Impreza over all cars, now try all i can to get back the VVTI FC which is 12km/litre.

with the way you drive, i think with a manual jazz/fit or vios, you can hit > 20km/l easily.

 

i think even 18km/l for altis also no sweat since you can achieve 15km/l on a TS.

I suppose you are trying to drive like a Chinese.

 

Change gear every 1.5k - 1.8k rpm, accelerate briskly and slow.

When approaching traffic junction put your gear into neutral.

From they way you drive you might get some respectable FC.

The amount of acceleration pressed is also the key.

More air + more fuel. Fuel can cool down the combustion camber.

More on the lean side i suppose.

can any bro here wat is the "power" button on the 1.6i AT impreza? does changing gear oftenly will spoil the auto gearbox? installed superione st555, sd888 and broquet in line and in tank still gg at 9.5km/l.. haha waste of my money... anyone wanna buy??

The TS is underpowered, high FC and cramp interior so its not really the best of everything

Mazda 3 shld be able to meet your requirements too.

Hi Sony,

When you are in Gear and not pressing the Acceralator.

 

You are basically having Engine Brakes ON.

 

As for AWD, I dare to be on NEUTRAL whenever the chance allows.

 

When I do the 1500-1800 rpm to gear change, I make sure it is a smooth transmission,

 

anything not smooth it means drinking petrol.

There's certain degree of engine brake but not so much on higher gear. When you go N, I wonder what is the diff for a 4WD and a 2WD.

 

And when you change to a higher gear at lower speed, I would suggest you try it with a car that show instant fuel consumption. It actually drink more coz you need to depress harder to reach your optimum speed of 80 to 90km/h to gain your best FC reading.

Go buy Honda City and drive properly.

VVTI FC for VIOS is more than 15km/l.
