I think GM do have some stake but have no influence on Suzuki's company decisions, cars and designs.

 

Suzuki is selling rebadged Daewoos(Which is our Chervolet in SG) in USA.

 

Companies in partnership with Suzuki includes:

- Nissan (commercial vehicles)

- Opel (as seen here, also got a swift clone.)

- Fiat (SX4 and their engines)

Don't think that this would sell better than the swift that looks so much better. They could have done better, by taking the swift, removing all the heavyweight junk, i.e. backseat, change the roof to plastic and some other panels to plastic, perhaps even some plexiglass, add in some carbon fibre somewhere and change it into a lightweight swift roadster version and selling it at 1.75X the price of a swift at only perhaps 1.1X the cost. Something like a BMW M3 GTR.
