well, we were not at the situation, I think not fair to comment if either one was hostile. Anyway, I feel that it was not a fair comparison. The Focus ST should be compared with the 2.5 WRX (not STi). The Legacy is at a different level. If I'm not wrong, the Legacy GT shares the same engine as the WRX right?

I think the WRX will win the Legacy GT in a drag race too, but then again, it'll still be unfair to compare both of them right? Anyway these are only my opinions, no offense to anyone [:)]

Tekan taken literally in Malay is to pull. I do not understand the language to understand if tekan and tarik can be used interchangeably. "Tekan" is a colloquial term used to mean punish

=================

I tot "tekan" is to press. Like in tekan the button. But slang for tekan is like to punish or reprimand.

Tarik is to pull. [nod]

I've driven a Legacy GT before. It's very powerful and comfortable. And it looks very nice too.

I believe that Legacy is still relatively stock.

A modded LGT .... can see 240-290whp.

A good stock ST sees 200whp.

Anyway, no big deal. That Legacy is punching well above its weight.

Talking about it, heard the Golf GTi is extremely rapid too.

That should be the car that the ST should be aiming for.

I don't think the ST would stand a chance.... esp if the GTi is modded.

and there are some shops that specialise in GT and Rexes, they are really good at it.

Modded can even go beyond 300hp ( i heard from a friend)

i sat in one before, it feels like when the roller coaster is travelling down a steep slope, the G force is stunning

Litchfield Type 25 (based on WRX Spec D STi A-Line, but with Cosworth 2.5litre) .... lightly tuned for max response minimal lag....sees 415hp and 570Nm.

Those going for drag race (with some lag) can see 500-600hp.

Subby engines are quite tunable. 300hp is QED.

the legacy in stock form probably is not as focus-ed (pun intended) as the Focus ST... diff category to fit diff driver profile lah....

here's a video of a mummy wagon on the track.. check out the handling... corners so flat...

Quoted from a thread in the new SG Ford Focus forum:

ST99D:

"This morning on the way to work a Legacy GT pulled along side with a mesh grille and looked modified. When the lights turned green he pulled off quickly and just to try how fast my car was, also 'tekan' my accelerator. First he pulled slightly in front as he took off first but when I slotted in third, the ST really pulled away and all this was done with the a/c on. He actually wanted to overtake me from the extreme right lane at Holland Rd after the speed camera into Tanglin Rd. Sorry mate, no chance! anyway to show his frustration he flashed at me but I showed him the thumbs down! That was one frustrated guy " [jawdrop]

Not sure whether it is exaggerated but a Legacy GT out-accelerated by a Ford Focus ST?

[gossip]

so... wat u trying to prove ... [thumbsdown]

Unless the LGT has a stick shift...

Btw pity the stick option for the LGT isn't available here. I feel it would compliment the car. Cos with a stick u can always decide how slow or quick u want the gear changes to be.

Cheers

Now that we've got that bit of Malay Language sorted out, we return to regular scheduled programming. [:)]

Tekan is to press or to put pressure... If you "tekan" someone (slang) is to "force" the person to do something he/she may not be willing to do...

Tarik is to pull...
