Speaker cables/Interconnects

if can lagi best. you need 3 pairs of RCA cables running from front to rear, but take note of the quality of the RCAs. quality of the speaker cables not so impt compared to the RCAs (which have the extra responsiblity of "protecting" the low-level signals from external noise before it reaches the amps).
Say, 1 question. Which is a better set up? A long RCA to amps at the boot with short speaker cables or A short RCA to amps in front with long speaker cables?

Got other things to consider also, like which setup easier to tune and adjust?

Generally, I would think that a shorter RCA is likely to be better, as it is a low-level signal, shorter means less loss and less prone to noise pickup.

[:|] So I guess speaker cable with amplified signals are more resistive to external noise. That would work for what I planned. Cause I need the amp in front for my components, so will bridge the remaining 2 out of 4 channels and pull the speaker cables to the rear. Thanks for you input. [;)]

actually now consider between belden, efx and monster 202. Which will give the most bang for buck? monster 202 retailing for abt $70 for 1 pair of 2m. I'm not too sure how much the other 2 will cost me. [:/]

they offering 3 x 2m as my amps will be under my seat. Then speaker cables as per normal. But like what 1 bro said. A good rca cable will easily cost abt 60 to 70 bucks for 1 pair. so i dunno what sort of quality i will get. [sweatdrop]

I would say short RCA and then long speaker cables.

Bro,

Are you very sure you will not get poison further? I was like you initially putting amp under the seat. So 2 metres RCA long enough. Then when upgrading, shift amps to the rear, need to change all RCAs as not long enough.

So you better think carefully before you buy. If you are sure you are not getting processor, I would recommend you to get 5m pairs as in case in the future you need to shift amp behind, then you no need to change anymore.

For me, I am using Belden (Can't remember the model) in shotgun configuration. I have to say the interconnects is value for money. But my case a little different. As I am running procesor, my RCAs are only 0.5 - 1m long.

Go talk to Robert, nice guy and he can give you good recommendation! To me, the Belden's are great value for money if you read them up at www.echoloft.com

Some bros recommended Mogami which are very good as well. If not Hisago also good and they can be source from Sin Aik at SLT!

Anyway to cut things short, thinkn carefully before you decide the brand and the length. i went through a change of 3 times for RCA when I do different stage of upgrading. So its worth spending more to get a good and long one to prepare for future upgrades! [thumbsup]

Bro, if you are not particular. Ask for the Belden (can't remember which model), just ask Robert the one that can do shotgun configuration. Use that to make your RCA with Canare plugs. If got money go for the neutrik plugs.

Belden is good enough for car. LHS has lots of them until you are spoilt for choice. Work within the pocket...remember, its for car...and you dun spend too long a time in car unless you have businesses in there. wink.gif

Its less than 10 per metre. I think its 9 per metre. Then you need to pay for the Canare plugs. If you want, call them to place an order then collect it. They take a few hours to make it for you!

No point going down to see as its a shop full of cables. You can get advice from Robert by calling him. [thumbsup]

You are right bro! I am very happy with the performance of the current Belden in my ride. I am spending less and less time in car now. So no point to spend too much!

what is your opinion on high-end optical cables? is it the property of a high-end optical cable to prevent the 1 and 0 from becoming 1.5 or 0.5 after transmission, while being stepped upon by passengers in the car or ...? haven't understood this yet.
