Which is the best in terms of outright dry grip? 215/40/17 for RS2 and AD07, 205/40/17 for RT615.

Y isit that the Falken and Hankook are only xxx/A/A whereas my current are Maxxis xxx/AA/A but is inferior in the dry??

AA is for wet braking only [;)]

all other aspects like dry cornering, steering precision and whatever are not reflected in the tyre rating

I wun be surprised that the RS-2 is A only, as it is supposed to be more dry-biased. Looking at Eagle F1, it's AA but RS-2 shd outperform it on the track

correction.. it should read

"traction rating is for wet braking only"

quote from www.carbibles.com

"The traction rating - an indicator of how well the tire is capable of stopping on wet pavement. "A" is the highest rating; "C" is the lowest"

i guess they meant "AA" where they wrote "A"

R-S2 loves the heat, the hotter the betta grip. Needs a little warm up. Hold up well in Sepang. Good wet grip as well. It actually has a stiffer sidewall than AD07, same profile. Did a comparison when I took off AD07 and slap on R-S2.

AD07 starts sliding after 2 hotlaps in Sepang. Won't last 5 hot laps in Sepang.

RT615 has actually gone soft, the sidewall is softer than RT215. Strange for Falk to do than since it's suppose to be a UHPT..

You prob get more grip from 215/40/17 tyre as you now have wider contact patch.

juz my little contribution

Glad to hear that about the RS2! I had my eye on the 615s but they did not come with the size I wanted.

What other tires would you recommend me? Looking for 245/40-16 or wider in a 16" rim, Dry only for max traction. Not concern about wet weather. Stiff side walls so drag radials are out of the question.
