Its the 2007 MINI, regardless of whether in the Cooper or Cooper S model.

If you know this car, its marketed as a car that allows individualization. You can configure a car that you like and pay for what you decide on. The Agent imports this car and sells it with pre-configured features. So you can imagine that under this type of arrangement, the number of options included determines the cost/value of the car.

Basically there is ONE marketing brochure for both Cooper and Cooper S models.

There is a single page that lists "EQUIPMENT" and marks against options considered as "STANDARD" for both models. Needless to say, the Cooper S that costs +$20K more has additional 8 options (out of 38). The list includes:

- stability control (S only)

- xenon lights (S only)

- automatic air-con (both models)

- twin scroll turbocharger (S only)

- sports suspension (S only)

- 17" light alloys with runflats (S only)

- sports seat for driver and front passenter (both) etc.

As you can see they are key features or literally "equipment".

The missing function that is on this list but not delivered is "anti-theft protection with heartbeat function".

Anyway, the Agent is Trans Eurokars, an SE i spoke to claims they sell something like 30 units a month of the new model.

You might also want to refer to the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003, which states among other things :

Section 4

It is an unfair practice for a supplier, in relation to a consumer transaction

[sweatdrop] I know what an immobilizer does. But it's unusual for a entry level 90k car to have such basic feature. [rolleyes]

even my 35k van has this feature

BTW assume that this Agent carries a reputable brand with the entry level model around S$90K.

I have always liked the way PML did business... you sign on a sales agreement that states all the standard feature and options of the car you book. No gray area that subject to disputes like this.

Check the feature in German website and its cost. multiply it with 110% ARF, 20% CE duty and 5% GST... and then claim this amount from them. If it is their genuine mistake... it's their problem, not yours.

I hate businessmen who dont honour their contract.

Most brochures have this disclaimer "Some equipments may not be standard in your region. Please check with your local dealer for more information". unimpressed.gif

This brochure does NOT.

the only reference material is this brochure. They use this sales aid to site the difference between the 2 models the Cooper and the Cooper S. the difference amounts to $24K difference.

certainly they must make good ?
