Nikolaiski Neutral Newbie June 15, 2007 Share June 15, 2007 (edited) http://www.xxxxxxx.com/articles/article.p...pageid=1&view=1 For those of you intending to buy the RE001, I can say that you won't be disappointed, a great improvement over the S-03 and GIII, but still very different. The01 Neutral Newbie June 16, 2007 Share June 16, 2007 There is a write-up by Colin Yong in weekend Today. According to Bridgestone, a large range of sizes is already on sale at BS's Dealers around S'pore. More coming 2nd half this year. BTW, no price quoted! Hope this help. Cheers! Nikolaiski Neutral Newbie June 16, 2007 Author Share June 16, 2007 (edited) ITs going to be a little cheaper than the S-03 Pole Position, which is really great la. Anyway, I'll be trying them out on my car, so can feedback to you guys here..what i'm interested in is the wet weather performance. The tyre compound appears to be a little softer than the Eagle F1 that I have right now, but I wonder if the tyre will be good in the wet... Ahbengdriver 6th Gear June 16, 2007 Share June 16, 2007 better than CSC3 and PS2?
The01 Neutral Newbie June 17, 2007 Share June 17, 2007 Yes! Definitely better than CSC3 & PS2 in pricing For other areas, wait for Nik's feed back, though! Cheers!
Abba Neutral Newbie June 17, 2007 Share June 17, 2007 Looking at the assemetrical thread & collection of saloon cars used for the trial in Sepang. Should be positioned as a street tyre for saloon cars. A white frosty used to test as well. Dun tink it's a max perf or UHPT.
Rtth84 1st Gear June 19, 2007 Share June 19, 2007 its definitely max perf cos replacing the SO-3 which is flagship tyre.
Ahbengdriver 6th Gear June 19, 2007 Share June 19, 2007 I dont mean price, I mean performance(including noise level) is it better than CSC3 and PS2. Anyway we wait for result hor?
Nikolaiski Neutral Newbie June 27, 2007 Author Share June 27, 2007 yO..sorry for the delay...I have not asked them yet, as I am going to get the details into my (not yet written) next article... Apparently it is higher than the RE050's 140...
Nikolaiski Neutral Newbie June 27, 2007 Author Share June 27, 2007 Ok..so far i clocked 200km on them. According to Bridgestone, the complete scrub in/run in is about 250km. So far so good, not the most quiet tyre around, in fact noise level is about Eagle F1 levels. BUT.. wah lao..the grip is FANTASTIC! I can take a corner at an average of 10-15km/h higher than what I can do with Eagle F1s. Rain weather wise, I don't know, never really whack yet because dunno the grip limits.... Minimum size btw, is 195/50 R15 that retails for just under $140 per tyre.
Scaglietti Neutral Newbie June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 Can't wait to try out this RE001. Hope they have my size: 205/55R15. BC
Astrochucky Neutral Newbie June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 I believe RE001 is not available in SG in 205/55/15. I also looking at this size, even tried calling one Malaysia tyre shop. They also dont have.
Scaglietti Neutral Newbie June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 Maybe I should change my rims too... ... 205/50R16 ...or settle with some odometer offset with 195/55R15...hmmm. BC
Chevycavy 1st Gear June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 Do you know where is Bridgestone positioning RE001 with respect to RE-01R? Above/below/level with RE-01R? My guess is that RE001 is positioned below since you mentioned 195/50 R15 retails for just under $140 per tyre. RE-01R will cost probably around $155 for 195/50 R15. ↡ Advertisement
