Crime rate doesn't deter me and my family. We have gone for canoe trips in high seas and snake infested secondary forests.

 

Before any activity, always check equipment and make sure safety is adhered to. Ditto with road trips. Don't be blind sided.

crime rate only high in places like jb and kl lar, if you choose to go the suburban route its quite ok. in facts the locals in these areas can be quite helpful ,

Actually, there are some deserted paths in SG that not many Singaporean car would like to wonder in. Cars are like god to them, don't want their tyres to get dirty.
