Foofam77 Neutral Newbie June 14, 2007 Share June 14, 2007 My wife has scratched a car door agst a wall till the extent where the silver colour can be seen. Would that be the base metal of the car door? Would there be any problem if I do not fix it? If I want to fix it, is it just a matter of respraying? Do I need to respray the entire side of the car? How much would it roughly cost and any good recommendations in the Sengkang/ AMK areas? Thank you ↡ Advertisement

If not too long, you can buy a touch up car pen paint.. look for ur colour code.. but will be a bit ugly lor.. If do not fix, will rust in the long run.. Ender Hypersonic June 14, 2007 Share June 14, 2007 TC free touch up is horrible. Make a mistake during my 1K servicing. I pointed a small scratch to the SA. He said try his best to touch up. After I went home and check, the area around that scratch has a big patch, like color faded. I think he ust have polish very hard on the scratch. Beei 1st Gear June 15, 2007 Share June 15, 2007 I've tried using touch up pen DONT USE IT! I MADE IT WORSE Its meant for the pros not us. i used it for chip paint..so not very obvious coz small area..but for scratches, not sure how..
Osiris 1st Gear June 15, 2007 Share June 15, 2007 DO not use touch up pen if you are concern with the look of your car. Touchup the door with a pen will be UGLY. For not so obvious area, touch up pen are perhaps acceptable. I suggest getting a respray. Search the resource folder for a workshop (or u can try one of the recommended Yew Lip in SIn Ming) I personally like the quality of the spray in Yew Lip. Not sure how much will it cost but as a guide, respraying the whole bumper cost around $150 If your wife is still a noob driver, maybe you can accumulate more damage before respraying. Uplinkhack 1st Gear June 15, 2007 Share June 15, 2007 actually i do agree with the part about spraying after getting more scratches, especially if your wife still new to driving or quite reckless...like that can spray all at once... but the next problem would be preventing rust so soon.. ↡ Advertisement
