DIY a ADM aircharger Ver2 + Simota Carbon filter (both bought used) on my 8 Seater before my Genting Highland trip on 5th to 8th May.

Slight improvement on pickup from D2 onwards but still short of what I was looking for, looks like I'm slowly turning to the 'dark' side sly.gifsly.gifsly.gif

The gain is not a lot from my current setup as the ECU was already tuned with Data Logging on the road, it helps a bit on the pickup but I didn't dyno it to see the gain.

IMHO, if your ECU is stock and engine have some form of variable valve timing control, it will improve on the pickup but not to the extend of T/C or S/C effect hor wink.gifwink.gifwink.gif

ah, the ferrite core, it's better if you also put some on those sensor cables nod.gifnod.gifnod.gif

Ask u something unrelated - u dispense with an oil catch tank but just use a breather filter. Does the filter get clogged up much with oil? Need to wash often? Thanks

on the higher speed, especially on N/S HW, was only able to max out at around 170km/h on straight road, 180km/h on slight down hill but this time round it's with 4 adults + 4 kids + luggage so not very conclusive but on SG driving, pickup did improve over stock airbox + K & N drop-in + CAI wink.gifwink.gifwink.gif

yes, it will clogged up with oil, now only used for about 1 week, so not much oil yet, will most likely put back the oil catch tank later when the filter is clogged. Will definately need a oil catch if I'm going over to the "dark" side.

Remove it and wash it every 5k-10k. or if the oil is coming out

10 min job, remove, degrease, re-install. do it when engine is cool [;)]

imo, this blower will impede air flow at high rpm. low RPM may have gain, like (very) light pressure turbo.

so it shd be ok for city driving. but nsh dun think so... more so for 2 liter and above like ur ride.

for my 1.1 liter maybe big gains.. sell to me la [sly][laugh]

That why I mention that it will work a bit for engine's that having some form of variable valve timing, you sirus engine doesn't have CVVT so that's why the effect isn't there.

I done a similar setup (using eRAM aircharger) on my ES5 civic which having VTEC engine and it works on the higher RPM however, when I put it onto my Mk1 Ford Focus, no effect at all.

With the ADM, I don't need to floor all the way on the higher rpm range, just roughly 1/2 way will do, however, it may have limitation especially on the higher speed, from around 150km/h onwards.

yes, high speed runs seems to have little or even some negative side effect, if I'm going for the big project, then I will sell you the ADM loh sly.gifsly.gifsly.gif
