Hi,

The engine light on my 3yr 3mths Altis is ON all the time even after starting the engine.

It doesn't go off. Any idea why this is so?

Think its your mods that are giving you the problem but must establish which is the 'culprit'. Bring it back to BM, they have a diagnostic kit to check this kind of problem. Some outside workshops may also have the diagnostic kit too but may not have the analysis manual meaning when the code or codes reading comes up they may not know how to interpret it. Better to get it resolved then drive around with the problem [drivingcar]

Engine light is on or check engine ?

engine light

1) Not enuff oil pressure.

2) Low level engine oil

Check Engine light

1) ECU fault

Bring back to agent and use a OBD computer to check. Could be one of the sensors are faulty.

Dunno about Toyota....some cars when they detect fault...they will go into limp mode. (that is they will seal off the final ratio....car can move...enuff for you to drive to service station but cannot speed.)

Try not to ramp the engine sometimes engine might even stall..... go to your mechanic they or agent, they can check with OBD computer
