HELP. What happen to my speedometer?

If it is indeed electrical problem, he will hv no doubt be able to solve it at a reasonable price.

I was travelling around 90km/h, suddenly my meter show 0km/h. then from 0 went to 90 and back to 0 again. i slow down but still the same, show my speed for 1 sec and drop back to 0. please view this video. anyone can help me out by telling me wat happen? do i need to change the whole speedomter? thanks!

i guess ur car is using the cable type for speedo?

 

if it is, check the cable's gear that is meshed to the gear box.. may have some broken tooth....

I dont think your meters r original. Aftermarket sometimes give problems due to quality/installation issues.

 

Maybe u can get a 2nd hand complete set from the scrap yards & change the whole set. [:p]

Hi everyone, sorry to bump this old post but I’m unable to start a new thread.

This happened to my dad’s car so I do not know about the specific model of stuff.

Porsche Cayman S

What I know is that he started the engine today and this blot appeared, does anyone know what might have caused it and would it be harmful to the car if I just let it be.

There are no special dashboard symbols even it's a Porsche.

 

If you look into youtube you will see ppl DIY replace the same LCD display panel for some Porsche models as their AD doesn't just replace that small panel. I think most likely replace the dashboard assembly.
