Albeniz Turbocharged June 3, 2007 Share June 3, 2007 I have seen quite a few cars on the road with the p-plates placed upside down. I think it was done deliberately as both the front and back plates were placed the same (wrong)way. What are the drivers trying to show? What will be the penalty if stopped by police? Comments anyone? ↡ Advertisement
Mbabypony Neutral Newbie June 3, 2007 Share June 3, 2007 I never noticed it yet. But prolly not done on purpose. No matter which way they put it left side up or watever, it still serves its purpose. Makes no difference to me.

Nerdyfrog Neutral Newbie June 3, 2007 Share June 3, 2007 actually, it doesn't matter much in this case, my personal view. i do not think the police will stop them. as long as have the sign up, is ok. People still recognise the symbol anyway.
Kianbeng Clutched June 3, 2007 Share June 3, 2007 The original design -> arrow up position, it's like thumbs up symbol. Those who pass the TP with flying colours, is thumbs up. Those who just barely pass the TP test, will be required to position the arrow downwards.

Albeniz Turbocharged June 3, 2007 Author Share June 3, 2007 i think it is just plain ignorant.... Plain ignorant? Just like how some of the residents hang the national flag upside down/inside out, outside the window of the HDB flats during the month of National Day? Albeniz Turbocharged June 3, 2007 Author Share June 3, 2007 (edited) I was thinking, are they trying to mock at the law makers? Could it be possible that: for e.g. an experience driver got his licence revoked, was forced to re-take driving test again and passed the test. Feeling humiliated that he has to comply with the requirement of the law and treated like a newbie, he vent his anger by putting the plate upside down. Just some thoughts. Nhyone 4th Gear June 3, 2007 Share June 3, 2007 Hard to say. If like mine, not pasted on properly and fall off very often, I didn't even look at them before slapping them back on. I get the orientation wrong 25% of the time.

Yc86 Clutched June 3, 2007 Share June 3, 2007 (edited) From what i see.. for some of the P-Platers driving a wagon/hatch, is that when the hatch is up, they put the plate according to their orientation. So when they close the hatch, the plate becomes upside down Edited June 3, 2007 by Yc86
