yup, use to see alot of cars parked face in at the road at the end of dam. now that they open up e seletar airbase gate, many cars take short cut via that road...making it unsafe for mating couples [:p]

that place used to be a very serene and quiet place to laze w frens w a cuppa or beer in hand. that was back in 90s. don't quite like the crowd there nowadays [:/] they totally killed it [thumbsdown]

Agree. I went there again after 10 years last weekend. It was like a madhouse there. Seren e atmosphere totally gone.

Hi there,

Can you describe where is the actual location or spot. I wanted to go there to feel the atmospere.Thx

It's just located straight down after Orchid Country Club that long stretch of road. Just keep going straight after OCC and you can'y miss it. It's a dam just like Kranji Dam

I passed by there yesterday around midnight.

There are some cars parked there and people were just relaxing and enjoyed the cool breeze perhaps trying to reminisce of the good old times.

Then I saw a TP there booking them ! Come on...its around midnight and they are not causing major obstructions.

Have Singapore turned into a place where one cant even relax for a second?

I think due to the extension of the road and surrounding there, people can no longer able to park along the road side like last time liao. So i guess no more people go there to relax or cant find any car meetup lo.

Last night went there with a group of friends, saw alot of modified Singapore and Malaysian cars. Saw 1 Malaysian car (can't rem the model) went fast past us and fire came out from his exhaust. He repeatd this for quite a few laps.

I remember the good old days when my Friday evenings after dinner were spent catching up with other Singaporean car enthusiasts (either same make or different - it didn't matter) along Yishun Dam till the wee hours of the morning.

It was a fixture on our weekly calendar that both my wife and I looked forward to to end our tiring work week. When we were done, we would all convoy to a supper location and that would mark the arrival of our weekends. That's something that we will always hold dear in our hearts and minds.

Used to bring the portable aluminum trays with small bags of 7-11 charcoal to do impromptu BBQs as well and it would be an awesome gathering.

I guess with the advancement of our country, it also signifies the end of such social gatherings for Singaporean car owners. Pity.

I thought one can park along the road leading to seletar after 7pm? There are no double yellow lines there.

I used to frequent that place. Last time got ice cream uncle selling those old school ice cream.

was there last night, saltwater side still single yellow line, still can park. reservoir side of the road is double yellow

That's great! For those who don't know about single yellow line, please refer to point 2: https://www.onemotoring.com.sg/content/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/modifications_and_vehoffences/vehicle_related_offences/illegal_parking.html

Do what we used to do when it got too crowded - park opposite then hot-foot it across. Not like its very far anyway!
