Marvelicious 3rd Gear May 29, 2007 Share May 29, 2007 Just curious to find out what you guys think of driving into JB to mod cars at a cheaper rate. Are the rates really that good and how is the workmanship like? ↡ Advertisement
Ahbengdriver 6th Gear May 29, 2007 Share May 29, 2007 a lot of them in jaybee are not trained ah beng ah kow. dont save that $$.
Turbonetics 2nd Gear May 29, 2007 Share May 29, 2007 depend on what mod you are looking at.they should be good in turbo set-up. ofcourse have to find a reputable workshop as well. their price are definitely much cheaper. but if your car got problem, have to drive all the way in for them to check which is rather troublesome. Marvelicious 3rd Gear May 29, 2007 Author Share May 29, 2007 Erm but arent't quite a lot of the workers at our local workshops from Malaysia too? Or are you meaning to say that there is more QC when it comes to hiring and then workshops in JB hire any ah beng and ah seng?
Elfenstar 3rd Gear May 29, 2007 Share May 29, 2007 (edited) Personally, other than body work or basic oil changes etc, I would only get mods done at some workshops in KL. Its not really QC coz QC in sg is pretty sh|t too. Just that reputable workshops in sg and KL are more trustworthy. Icekitten Clutched May 29, 2007 Share May 29, 2007 I think if you want to go in and mod your car, you have to do your own research first then tell them exactly what you want to be done, rather than go there and let them persuade you into doing this and that. You know ppl always say "MY Boleh!"? This applies to car engines also. Often have weird Frankenstein products from them. Can work, but how long it can last is another thing. Price-wise I have no doubt it's much cheaper there. I changed my clutch there for half the price I would've paid in SG, maybe even lesser. But some accessories cost more over there and it's more worth it to buy in SG then let them install or just do it in SG altogether. Think gauges are cheaper in SG, for example. ↡ Advertisement
