Sony 1st Gear May 30, 2007 Share May 30, 2007 Erm, let's just say that accident caused by rim is quite rare and few.. but a good one ensure that when you hit the pothole at high speed, it will at most warp and will not crack, which in turn, will result in blow out. ↡ Advertisement

This is the reason that I want to have a trusted brand rims, can't afford to have a blow out with 8 people on board while doing 170+ on N/S HW
Fatpenguin Neutral Newbie June 1, 2007 Share June 1, 2007 Heavy body, heavy rims... How was your FC like?
Vtim 3rd Gear June 2, 2007 Share June 2, 2007 (edited) all my previous rides, from 90' till now, got bad FC and I finally concluded it aint the ride, it's because I got HRF syndrome on a serious note, with my HRF driving, I'm geting only 5+~6+km/L Edited June 2, 2007 by Vtim
Fatpenguin Neutral Newbie June 4, 2007 Share June 4, 2007 6km/l... Now after changing to Wish, FC alot better, much lighter load on the pocket too, as I work in Leng Kee (stay in Bedok)...
Vtim 3rd Gear June 4, 2007 Share June 4, 2007 I hope to find a resonable price used Jap or Euro light 16" rims and maybe that will improve the FC as the current 24kg (17" + tyre) are way too heavy

Tzehou Neutral Newbie June 7, 2007 Share June 7, 2007 (edited) You can try SSR Type-C. Was using this on my previous MR-S. NIce and simple rim to maintain. Easy to wash as there are no many spokes to clean. Very light too. Even lighter than the Volks TE37 which was one of my choice too. Each 16" SSR Type-C only weights at 4.9kg! Sweet eh... Heee... Garlic 1st Gear June 7, 2007 Share June 7, 2007 How much do these cost? 4.9kg is lighter than Magline's forged 8 and 10 spoke series.

Tzehou Neutral Newbie June 8, 2007 Share June 8, 2007 Yes, SSR Type-C is one of the lightest rim you can find around. Made in Japan. Last time round I got it was only around $480 per rim. More value for $ than the Volks TE37 which cost about $550 per rim and weights at 5.5kg for a 16". They only have bronze, gun metal and white if I'm not wrong. With a lighter rim, you save on FC and also the launch off accerleration will be much improved.
Destiny03 Clutched June 8, 2007 Share June 8, 2007 bronze would be nice. the one you got is gun metal?
Tzehou Neutral Newbie June 8, 2007 Share June 8, 2007 Nope, the one I got was bronze. The photo didn't reflect it nicely. Thr bronze color is the same as the one on Volks TE37.
