1. Wow, pictures tell a thousands words.

2. You guys really make me thinking hard of going to Lumut. Perhaps, should stay in Ipoh city for 1 night and followed by Lumut or vice versa.

Thank you.

Forget about Heritage, it is too run down due to poor maintenance. Don't stay in Tambum, it too far from the city centre; a day trip to the Lost World of Tambum is better.

Other food I can recommend:

1) Try those shopshouse along 旧街场

1. I think the low rise Seria Malaysia Hotel seems interesting, family room for RM150 nett per night.

2. Is near to Suyuen right? I surfed the web and find that Regalodge is also not too bad. Anyone have comments on the Regalodge? Thanks.

I stayed in Hotel Ipoh City during my last trip there in Dec. If I remember correctly it was RM150 per night for family room (2 queen size bed in a big room). It's a simple and basic hotel, but most importantly it is clean. My friend in malaysia booked it for me.

Yah. So many rest stops along the NSH to have some makan. Just check the large green signage that have a pic of the "fork & knife" for stops with food stalls.

The bigger stops might even have a burger joint. Fill your stomach & also top up your petrol tank at the same time. [thumbsup]

On the hotel, I think Syuen is a good hotel to stay in. Its in the old town section, and located right opposite Parkson shopping centre. It has a Secret Recipe restaurant within.

If I don't remember wrongly, the rows of shophouses where the makan places are located (Old Wong Beansprout Chicken etc.) are just nearby. You can buy Pamelo, biscuits, crackers etc. from the shops located there too.

If you don't mind driving to the town outskirts, you can drive over to the Jusco shopping centre locality. You can find Marko, Tesco there, and several rows of shophouses with nice restaurants and cafes.

And if you like coffee very much, don't forget to try out the famous Ipoh White Coffee. You can find the authentic white coffee at the 旧街场, in 新元龙 , last shop on the left side of the road.
