Those people who think you can use your camera to take pictures of offending vehicles, please wake up.

He think he smart. Post picture of a van travelling at 70km.hour on extreme right lane. Van owner already spotted him. Jot down his vehicle plate number. Pictures he took.. he daringly and stupidly post on internet. Police raided his house and invited VAN driver to be witness. Van driver, who road-hogged right lane, gave statement that he SAW the criminal taking pictures with camera with one hand while behind him.

 

Friend leave behind his pretty wife and 2 lovely kids and asked me to take care of his wife. What should I do?

Well, I guess local authorities view using your HP while driving as a more serious offense compared to Road hogging the Right Lane at 70 Km/hr. Anyway, its only 2 weeks and he'll be out. Cheer Up. Its a good reminder to everyone though .

Driving at 100km/h with one hand holding the photo to take pictures The photo clearly shown that it was taken from driver side!

 

 

BTW, there are passenger cars like Citroen Berlingo and Fiat Panorama that are based on van design, with similar body and max weight but with a less powerful petrol engine.

 

Compare to a van version with diesel engine, how can a van be less capable than the passenger version in terms of handling, acceleration and braking?

 

In fact, a van is less likely to road hog as diesel engines have much higher torque at low rpm, and some even comes with 4 disc brakes, airbags and ABS.

 

Therefore, how can a car with 5 adults that weight 400kg any safer to travel at 90km/h than a van with 400kg of goods?

Can he appeal? Did he engage a lawyer? Worst case, write in to FORUM page of Strait Times and create an issue out. of it I am sure it will catch the attention of some "important" people.

 

I wonder what our Police are really doing...people who did mischief to our cars, they say they cannot do anything about it; people who drive vans or lorries speeding and caught in the act, they don't do anything but instead catch the good citizen who is trying to alert the public of such irresponsible act.
