correct!

They are playing the "who blink first" game. you blink, you loose.

The top up money can get you a lot of parking coupons, ERP $$$, petrol etc.

Patience is the game. nothing to loose...

Note that property, stock market over heating .... time will come to release some steam.

There are lots of car buyers mostly the enblockers aiming to get their brand new car and even their 2nd car.... they made millons so what is 5k to them.....honestly they are the ones that i feel caused the Coe to go straight up wif most of them booking Guranteed COE at this point of time

Don't ever fall for the top up appeal - oldest trick in the book. It's either they want business or not.

If you ever show you're more desparate for the transaction than them - good luck!

Hi all!

My SE jus called me and she gave me 3 options for my last coe bidding, which one should i choose? any advice

1) top up 2.5k for guaranteed coe

2) top up any amount to increase my margin for bidding

3) top up 2k for guaranteed within next 3 bids, so 6, 7 and 8th

er failing which if i still want to go with the 7th round it would be additional 1k

u guys watched the show DEAL or NO DEAL ?

I guess its the same now wif the COE wif the options above....

No deal and u might find yourself in a worst off position.

Deal and well u might get what u always dream about......haiz.....

ya i agree dont bother with it... if u have the time to wait just wait for 6 bids i think most likely they will give u the car by 6th bid... my friend just bought a new sunny at 44k vey cheap since coe at 17k he waited till the final 3th bid and he got it. We all thought that theres no way my friend gonno have the car since coe is so high now but weird i dont noe why SE able to bid so high on the last 1...

they would rather keep the buyers than let them go to other brands.

My advice to TS would be to hang on till after the 6th bid. Quite a few ppl in latio club booked their rides when the coe was at the low pt, most got it by their fifth bid. Knowing TC, they will get it for u. Just hope you dun be the 1st case that after 6th bid still cant get la. [sweatdrop]

DO NOT TOP UP!!!

All car distributors face pressure from the manufacturer to meet the annual sales quota, failing which they risk losing the authorised distributorship.

They are just playing a mind game with you.

Tell them "Give me my car or I take my money to your competitor"

You are not doing car buyers good by topping up. Why let these car distributors use your money to drive up COE prices?

GE is the one where interest is the highest and they take watever else is rejected by other banks, so interest rate is high to cover their risk

if u take that 4.5% i think even by 10yr u see car also cant cover

[reply]haa i guess she knows that if i dont get my march she has a chance... anyway i think its nice of her!

reply]

Yah U R rite the other Dealers stand a chance if you don't get a car..

But I don't think they are nice coz they are just interested to sell you a car to earn some $$$(I am sure alot of dealers will even start PM you on this forum) [laugh]

Actually this COE market is manupulated by big car dealers who want to play the "Guranteed and non guranteed COE game" as a source of 2nd income.

They just do not want to be transparent [thumbsdown]

COE down to 5k they earn more COE up they also earn just by slowly adjust the car price.

Y not as some of them said

Try luck - DOn't top up

Cannot live without Marchie - Top up 1K (and decide on COE day)

Sis,

My guess is most Latio buyers got their COE by 5th bid because the car is more expensive. But than a month back there was an article in Straits Time about COE top up. I got an impression from the article that BM and T* normally do not ask customer for top up. Please see if you or anybody can search the article and if is stated so there, use that to ask TC to uphold their reputation. Just a suggestion, as I am not familiar with T* and feel their COE rebate very low such that customer dont benefit much when COE plunges.

But if you want the car so much, then you may want to think otherwise cos the car price has increased alot.

The COE has increased by $10k.

My view is that topping up about $2.5k is 'reasonable' in view of the current situation.

But everyone do bear in mind the $101 COE case many years ago.

The reason WHY it crashed was because the previous month, many delears refunded deposits to buyer who did not get their COE in their 6th bids. COE was rising fast at the time also, and many buyers refused to top-up, thus causing the crash in the following month.

If I were you, I will give the delear option(4) that is I want to extend to 6th, 7th, 8th bids, by paying just $500 nothing more nothing less.

The reason is simple, because I am sure many 'stubborn' buyer will also refuse to top-up and thus their 6th bids will lapse in the next bid, and subsequent bids there will be 'lesser' demands for COE and there is high chance the COE price will mellow alittle.

I guess if all car buyers using option 4, we will not be bully or trick to commit at extremely low price (when you book, they say good price, now they told you unreasonable low price, can not get COE [rifle] )and yet they can not deliver.
