Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 (edited) As above, referring in particular to Renault Megane, is it true? Is fuel consumption for Megane high? Like to hear comments, good and bad, for this car.. Thanks Edited May 15, 2007 by Green_carnation ↡ Advertisement
Porche 5th Gear May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 my 2 boss drive this car, lots of problem...maybe too high tech...
Silver_blade Turbocharged May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 (edited) Fuel consumption is very good and parts are relatively cheap...comparable to some Jap cars. French car rides are among the better ones for cars....nice and comfortable. Will do well around bends. Edited May 15, 2007 by Silver_blade
Miketow Neutral Newbie May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 You are going to get some flak for that b/c there are many proud owners of Meganes now...
Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Author Share May 15, 2007 Really? high tech cos there are too many sensor stuff? it's worrying coz more high tech stuff will mean more things may kaput, and will mean cost for repairs.. no doubt those sensor stuff are nice to have, but i m skeptical abt their reliability, as in will they become faulty easily... Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Author Share May 15, 2007 Yeah heard it's comfortable and has good road holding.. realli stout look too.. however keep thinkin it's not as easy to maintain as a jap car.. or maybe i m used to jap cars..
Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Author Share May 15, 2007 realli? then i can gather more plus points for this car..
Reng Neutral Newbie May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 Bro, any intention to change to this car, it is really a nice car(visual),it just has a long lasting look in my opinion. But,how reliable,i dun know becos never drive before.
Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Author Share May 15, 2007 yeah i love the looks since it was launched yrs back.. i feel it even looks beta than some 2L sedans.. Not mani things will still appeal to me after few yrs, but the look of this car still does..
Amlys04 Neutral Newbie May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 my boss wife bought this car a few years ago but most of the time engine will stall while waiting at a traffic junction . sent back to workshop a few time but problem was never solved. Fed-up , he sold the car after a few months and bought a Jazz.
Silver_blade Turbocharged May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 Most conti cars will be less reliable, and in most cases, more expensive to maintain that Japs.
Sony 1st Gear May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 Really? high tech cos there are too many sensor stuff? it's worrying coz more high tech stuff will mean more things may kaput, and will mean cost for repairs.. no doubt those sensor stuff are nice to have, but i m skeptical abt their reliability, as in will they become faulty easily... if you just want a car which is bare, go to the Japz coz it's no frills.. nothing inside, so nothing for it to break down. Go for conti if you want the frills but as you stated, with more things means higher chances of breakdown if you are unlucky. If you put the same amt of equipping on the japz, I think the occurance will be the same but japz's QC is slightly better imho
Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Author Share May 15, 2007 Wow.. dis one realli no good comment.. can imagine the frustration.. lotsa inconveniences caused for calling for tow truck, for making the trips to service centres etc..
Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Author Share May 15, 2007 yeah datz wat pp said.. datz why i keep thinkin isit worth the change, to compromise current reliability for the looks.. n lower reliability..
Sony 1st Gear May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 that's because the conti have more things inside for it to breakdown.
Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Author Share May 15, 2007 Fully agree.. perhaps I should just stick to my current basic jap make..
Sony 1st Gear May 15, 2007 Share May 15, 2007 but then, you are also missing out on other good "stuffs" if you go back to Japz. It's really a matter of whether you can overlook the cons and look forward to the pro.
Green_carnation Clutched May 15, 2007 Author Share May 15, 2007 yeah itz give n take.. I hv had frequent encounters of car breakdown from my previous coe car.. Realli hate the inconveniences. And mayb like wat u mentioned, if wanna look forward to the pros.. then will hv to live with the cons (which of coz may hv or may not hv, depending on luck) ↡ Advertisement
