French cars not easy and expensive to maintain?

As above, referring in particular to Renault Megane, is it true? Is fuel consumption for Megane high? Like to hear comments, good and bad, for this car.. Thanks [:)]

Fuel consumption is very good and parts are relatively cheap...comparable to some Jap cars. French car rides are among the better ones for cars....nice and comfortable. Will do well around bends.

Really? high tech cos there are too many sensor stuff? it's worrying coz more high tech stuff will mean more things may kaput, and will mean cost for repairs.. [sweatdrop]

no doubt those sensor stuff are nice to have, but i m skeptical abt their reliability, as in will they become faulty easily...

my boss wife bought this car a few years ago but most of the time engine will stall while waiting at a traffic junction [sweatdrop]. sent back to workshop a few time but problem was never solved. Fed-up [mad] , he sold the car after a few months and bought a Jazz.

if you just want a car which is bare, go to the Japz coz it's no frills.. nothing inside, so nothing for it to break down. Go for conti if you want the frills but as you stated, with more things means higher chances of breakdown if you are unlucky.

If you put the same amt of equipping on the japz, I think the occurance will be the same but japz's QC is slightly better imho

Wow.. dis one realli no good comment.. [laugh] can imagine the frustration.. lotsa inconveniences caused for calling for tow truck, for making the trips to service centres etc..

but then, you are also missing out on other good "stuffs" if you go back to Japz.

It's really a matter of whether you can overlook the cons and look forward to the pro.
