Boxster 2nd Gear May 13, 2007 Share May 13, 2007 What sort of plates are you refering to? Chrome is done by plating Cr onto the metal. So if you damage the surface, it will chip off. Chrome plated has various "thickness" of Cr applied on the part Stainless Steel itself already have Cr in the metal so is shiny if you polish it. Both can be polished but
Crv007 Neutral Newbie May 13, 2007 Author Share May 13, 2007 errr...... those popout number plate I am referring to. Boxster 2nd Gear May 13, 2007 Share May 13, 2007 (edited) This depends on the thickness and quality of the chrome plating process. Maybe the chrome one is lousy because the plating is not thick enough. But of cause stainless steel is better coz it will not chip off But I think you have a problem with ROV if you use either number plates. Chuablalan Neutral Newbie June 3, 2007 Share June 3, 2007 Suggest you not to use both. Cos you will encounter problem or fine with ROV. ↡ Advertisement
