How to read rim width?

My rims shows 7JJx17

How come the ruler shows like it is nearly 8in?

 

Where is the measurement for width usually taken?

minus the curve part off the edge

i.e 1/2 inch off each end

nope ... just got them ... downsizing :) around 6.8kg I think

Not sure whether they are real BBS RK.

me also looking for light 17" rims lah, how much did you pay for the BBS RK ?

 

BBS RK 17 x 7J should be 17.2 lbs ~ 7.87 kg

I'm on 7J rim with 195 profile tyre, seem like over stretched a little bit
