ATF cooler and SS braided brake hoses..... how would it help in your trips up NSH? Help as in what way????

They would help based on your driving style.

If you do not drive the car hard, then you've not much use for the ATF cooler. Well, maybe it'll help if you are frequently caught up in traffic jams or stop/start traffic whereby your ATF is not being cooled sufficiently. But if cruising.... it'll not too beneficial.

Brake hoses.... do you do constant hard braking? Or do you want to install it to have better brake pedal feel?

What car are you driving BTW?

Anyway, if you're intent on installing them..... most popular ATF coolers are the Hayden or permacool brands. There are others like B&M, etc.... depends on your wallet size.

Go to your regular workshop that does you maintenance/repairs. They should be able to fix it up for you.

Hi Dwoon,

Care to share, self was thinking that ATF cooler benefit for pro-long driving; example like driving non stop for 5~6 hours - correct me if I'm wrong.

As for ATF cooler, wat drive the oil thru the cooler? Is there an additional pump attached?

As for s/s brake hose, just want more efficient braking only.

Thanks for sharing. Cheers

ATF cooler is basically used to cool the ATF ( as its name). So unless you're pushing the car at high rpms which'll really heat up the ATF, then it'll be useful to prolong the life of your auto-tranny. It basically a smaller radiator which the ATF passes through to get cooled. No additional pump required.

If you're driving non-stop for 5-6 hours.... but you're not pushing the car to high rpm ranges.... say cruising at 110 to 130km/h (maintaining ~ 2.5 - 3K rpm) with the occasional 160- 170km/h to overtake, then dropping back to crusing at ~ 130Km/h, I don't think you'll need it.

Unless you're always sprinting and pushing high rpms... even on the NSH.... like constantly pushing the car to above 200km/h with rpms in the 5- 6K and above.... then maybe you'll need it... if your car does not already come with one. Another situation is when you're always in stop/start traffic which heats up the ATF but car is not moving fast enough to provide the necessary cooling.

For more efficient braking, try better pads and tyres for a start. I don't think you're doing so much hard braking that'll cause your stock brake lines to expand and get brake fade. Unless you're looking to get a firmer brake pedal feel.... which maybe it'll help just a wee bit.... but not much though. (the brake stopper is what you need).
