I beg to differ.

A friend of mine who's a novice at rims and tyres got ripped off from that shop.

A brand new set of 17" rims & tyres cost $1,300.

He traded in his stock 16" rims & tyres (total mileage 7,000 km) and had to top up $1,100.

Trade-in price for 1 x 16" Rim and 1 x 16" tyres = $50??? [thumbsdown][thumbsdown]

I agree with Altantis.

I'd made some enquiries with them but so far the service is far from satisfactory. He feel like it, he will response to you otherwise, you will not get any response.

I would not recommend. [thumbsdown]

I heard negative feedback from the forums and alas, positive ones too. I take it with a pinch of salt. Before deciding on Poh_Heng, I did my homework with Leong Seng, Yap Brothers and Soh. Poh_Heng's price turned out to be the best and I did negotiate further for a better price.

Not too many tyres shop takes trade-in. For my colt's 16" rims & tyres (5 days old), he offered $800.

So, I think I got a good deal then... [thumbsup]

Poh_Heng's business is too good that it somewhat choke their operations.. I waited for 2-3 hours just for my turn to get my rims changed. [thumbsdown]

Justin does not have the desirable service level. Most of time, I have to follow up with him. Most of the time I call him after 9 pm to get the updates. [gossip]

It depends on what type of rims you are looking for... The mid-to-high range can't be found there [blush] Otherwise, the uncle is friendly and warm [flowerface]

You can't compare the trade in price of new rim with one that have 7k mileage on it.

BTW, top up amt and trade in price is not the same. Which rim and tyres did your friend get?

I think 16" is one of those "neither-here-nor there" size. People that would consider upgrade usually go all the way to +2 (17") if they upgrade.

Anyway, last year they paid $500 for my G-Games replica with well used ST115.

Actually tyres with 7k mileage not much trade in value already, so to make customer happy the tyre shop will mark up the cost of the new rims and tyres, then tell customer that the old rims are taken in at a price. So the actual cost of the 17" rims should originally be in the region of $1100. I know because I kenna "conned" in this way before. Only realised after I changed rims, and went ard other shops to compare prices.
