sorry bro..

i dont agree

carbon type ac filters, thicker in material construction lol

restrict more air flow

then the carbon sheet absorb odours

imagine ur blower blow air thru the filter,

carbon layer absorb smell, however air flow still filter thru this carbon sheet

so the air flow will still contain some smell

ever wonder why when the car got carbon type ac filters, when after approx 15,000km will still have smell?

one reason is dirty, the other reason is air flow blowing thru take some of the smell into cabin lol

Best combination

white filter + lots of charcoal jelly inside ur ride

allows more air flow, and yet, the charcoal jelly helps to absorb most of the odours..

AD dont normally change ur ac filter as its not stated inside ur svc procedures...

u mean ur original is charcoal? or is it so blacken with dirt?

hehehhe

FYI, Tan Chong service packages does include change of aircon filters.

My only AD car was a sunny so I am very sure they did change the aircon filters every 40k servicing. [thumbsup]

u are right for nissan

4. Check ventiliation filter / A/con cooling efficiency {Renewal - Additional material charge} **

but at additional charge

how much was the ac filter that they charge you?

let me guess,

$30 and above?

You can notice the difference when u input one pc of fresh ac filter inside ur ride...

airflow is stronger, smell is reduced (as the dirty filter tends to have molds growing on it).

Would like to add that I am using CF. no noticeable impact on airflow or seen molds. smell, a wee bit improvement. that's after 13-14,000km. Probably can drag longer but change it cause almost 1 yr.

only thing is CF is thinner than say Bosch

CF is one single layered filter (with plastic molded part as its structural bone to make the filter more rigid) with carbon net at its bottom.

Bosch is a 3 layered filter (1 carbon layer in between 2 layers of white material)

in terms of air flow, of cos CF is better

in terms of smell removal, i would say bosch is much better as the middle layer is a complete carbon sheet instead of CF carbon net. The surface area is more...

in terms of pricing, both are almost the same.

Bosch is more or less selected as an oem part for some models compared to CF (which is considered as a aftermarket)...

As for which type to select, it all depends individual preferences...

if want cheap and good, can consider as what some bros recommended...

if aircon is set to recirculate, will the car take the air from inside and pass it thru the aircon filter before venting it out again? Or does only air from outside pass thru the filter?

the answer to ur question is yes...

recirculating means recirculating air in cabin thru and thru

if allow outside air to come in...the air will come in thru the vents located outside ur ride

u know some of those air vents in front of ur wipers? those just between ur windscreen and bonnet

some of these vents are outside air inlet vents

if u find leaves, sticks, twigs...in ur ac filters, most likely u got swtich to outside air into car mode as in the lst picture lol

but ur ac filter gets dirtier more easily

its like filtering a cabin of air vs filtering incoming air from outside

Yup, have to pay additional charge. But I cannot remember how much already as this happened like 3-4urs ago. Now driving a different model of car. :D I did change my aircon filter for my current car at 40k servicing.

Ciggy lighter I think yours fuse blow only.

Just change the fuse can already. Just dont overload. Most is 10 amp only.

Unfortunately I look for good value for $$$. Which i cant find often in SG. So far only my regular ws I still prefer to use in SG cos I find the JB ws most r not good.

I think I prefer to help my pocket 1st & worry about others pockets some other time.

Maybe cost of living is too high in SG thats why almost everything is also ex. [knife]

If you have to borrow money to study in the U, borrow money to buy a brand new car, borrow money to throw a wedding dinner, spend money yearly for holidays, trying to life up to Joe and Peter, etc etc - defintely life is a struggle. I believe in simple living and living within my means.
