Mercedes Benz W210,E320 should be using M-104 Engine, open the Bonnet & smell got Petrol Smell or not.?There is a Part near the Injectors...prone to leak Petrol there, but mine is W124,M111 Engine....By the Way,which Country you are from.?

I have no petrol leak, i checked. But as i said i think the problem is that my engine on its last gear (4th) the rpm is high it increased from 2000rpm before to 2600rpm now at 100km/hr

And am from Lebanon bro :)

Check the ATF,your Gearbox must be "Slipping",most likely the Clutch worn out...

Hi all i have a problem with my Mercedes 320, 210, 1996, and i wish if there someone who can help me.

After my car was doing great in fuel consumption where it was making 170-180 km per tank(20 L) it dropped to 90 km/tank.

So i put it on scanner and changee everything that i could change.

I changed:

Coolant sensor

Radiator

Heat valve

Spark plugs

Fuel thruttel

Cam shaft sensor

Balancing the gear shaft

Changing fuel filter (fuel pump is good)

Changing oil

But still the consumption 90 km/tank.

What would be the problem. Please help me.

Ps: scanner is giving 17-18km/sec on the Air mass

And 2600rpm at 100 km/hr when it was 2000rpm before.

I think it's quite easy to narrow is down.

Since it's fuel related, just think of fuel related components. Air sensors, MAF and exhaust side air sensor. How much air going into the engine ecu will input how much fuel to make sure the air/fuel ratio is right. So if air sensors have issues your fuel economy will suffer. Next thing to check is fuel injectors. If faulty or clogged with carbon fuel economy will suffer. Another issue might be throttle body dirty. Your car is quite old so another possibility is loss of compression in one of the engine cylinders. How about the fuel pump? Is it making noise?

I don't think it's gearbox. As long as there's no abnormal hard jerky shifting or any abnormal sound there's nothing wrong with the gearbox.
