Go in once a week. Petrol more expensive for the MJ it contains and furthermore, the engine just burns it away. Go in pump gas and petrol. Still need to get groceries, cheaper movie tickets etc.

Its a scam. As simple as that. Water as a fuel car violates the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics.

Hi all,

Need to borrow this thread. I need some expert advise on some questions.

1. What is the diff btw installing CNG in a brand new car and in my existing car in terms of rebate and road tax?

2. What mileage can be achieved from 1 full tank of CNG for a 1.6l auto car?

3. Is the CNG tank transferable? Meaning that if i buy a CNG car and sold it later, can i take out the CNG tank and install it into my new car?

Please help.........

1. 40% OMV rebate for new car registered as CNG. Road tax same.

2. say 1 typical full tank = can put 10kg of gas... 1 kg about 1.1litres of petrol (energy equivalence). so based on ur current petrol per litre consumption, u multiply by 1.1 then multiply by 10. that is the mileage for a CNG full tank. Expect 160 - 180km

3. Yes. But u have to pay for labor. And btw.. CNG tank only recommended for 5 years after which u have to go for overhaul/servicing.

I heard that CNG tank + installation in Malaysia cost only ard RM4k+. However in Singapore context, is it legal? Personally i feel should be ok....

Heard that the price at Mandai just went up to $1.49 today. Anyone can confirm?

i went today. confirm. tmd

Really sheet man. How can CNG be so expensive now? When I install CNG, still got $1.18. Now all $1.49. Can't believe it. Now will take even longer to ROI and my CNG consumption is so bad.

Ppl say what oil cartel....now also got gas cartel. Damn it man.

If you get can the msia installation to pass VITAS inspection, then basically no problem. But in the first place, I believe LTA will not even entertain the application coz they know it's not a local company and they have no control over it.

after spending 4++ thousands on CNG conversion....

and if CNG continues to be SLIGHTLY cheaper than petrol... u'll still buy CNG from them right?

say... $1.90/kg.

The thing is...after installation, we already paid $4k+ (for me almost $5k) and we have no choice must use CNG liao coz otherwise you are spending on petrol to carry that tank (100+kg for me). It's a complete waste of money and boot space.

Even if it works out to be 10% savings, we also LL already.

I also regretted paying for the Smart stored value card. I should have just paid cash from the start. The stored value card has basically no value add at all.

If i install the CNG tank in malaysia for my existing car, then nothing to do with LTA mah..... since no OMV rebate or no road tax rebate even the CNG tank is installed in singapore mah... So its more worthwhile to install in M'sia instead?

It's an illegal or unauthorised modification to the car. Somemore, it's a modification to the car engine injection system. Its just like those who modify the car to use turbo without approval. Don't get caught.

But when it comes to annual inspection, I think they will check for this.

i totally agree. but please make sure you car has an emergency $20 kept somewhere coz it can really be paisey when you found out after you pump that you have no money to pay. I speak from experience. [blush]

Then what happened when you had no money? Actually I cannot understand why it takes so long for them to establish at least NETS payment. They must be still deciding on which bank's credit card facility to use.....

Ya I know. the 7km distance one I think it's along jalan datin halimah or something. It's not along where I frequently go. So my nearest would be along Perling. I plan to pump CNG, then switch to petrol. Then before I come out of JB, then I pump petrol.

they will need to pay for the NETS transaction. If they use their own system, all profit minus setup fee.
