Whiteblackred Neutral Newbie April 21, 2007 Share April 21, 2007 Dear bros, i do not have much knowledge on these areas and seek your help to enlighten me. recently my mom told me she would get me a new car if i grad with my degree. and we settled on the cheapest boxster or any car within or lower than that price range. my parents had always tell me to pay such things in full(house, car) but i had a friend who told me its stupid, because i am so called "stuck" with my ride for the next 10 years whereas others who pay on loan do not have this "burden" because in singapore everyone changes car every few years. is this true? secondly, i just got my license slightly over a year ago and bought my current humble 1.4 ride on the day i passed itself with insurance at around 3k and now being my 2nd year, its 2k+. if over the next 2yrs i do not get into any accident that will affect my NCD, probably how much will my insurance cost if i go for the boxster? is there any way to tell in the first place? lastly, are there any other cars that are in the some region in terms of power with the cheapest boxster? but its not a soft top? i know its a lengthly post. ur help is very much appreciated. ↡ Advertisement
Guyver 1st Gear April 21, 2007 Share April 21, 2007 Firstly .... Welcome to MCF .... 2ndly .... WOW!! Free car from mum .... From my experience ... for Boxster ... the insurance is about $3K-$4K for somebody with 50% NCD and age about 40yrs old. I believe you should be under 24yrs old .... if I'm not wrong .... they'll not cover you if the car is under your name on a normal basis. Will probably need to appeal. Not all insurer take in this brand model also. You can consider BMW 645i ....
Auron 2nd Gear April 21, 2007 Share April 21, 2007 hmm... i tot anyone that can pay in full for a boxster will not care about such small stuffs like insurance...
Guyver 1st Gear April 21, 2007 Share April 21, 2007 Trust me ..... people that buy a lambo .... can also ask for discount on their car insurance .... So it's not a car thing ... but it's human thing ... We would always want to get the same things at a lower price ....

Whiteblackred Neutral Newbie April 21, 2007 Author Share April 21, 2007 bro, money is hard to earn. we expect to get what we paid for. no more no less (of coz if more, its better for us as customer). money earned is not for ppl to chop carrot. also need to weigh some factors too. Chemz Clutched April 21, 2007 Share April 21, 2007 in strict present-day terms, you'd ALWAYS pay lesser when u pay off in full than take a loan(even with rebates & discounts) the only concern you shld be concerned abt is whether u'd face liquidity problems after spending all that ready cash. Robbo Neutral Newbie April 21, 2007 Share April 21, 2007 yup.. no pt paying all at full front unless u really got a lot of spare cash. the spare cash may come in handy in future
Skyway Neutral Newbie April 21, 2007 Share April 21, 2007 True enough but I guess if can consider paying full in cash, should be pretty well off. But then again you wun know when u might need the extra cash in future.
Robbo Neutral Newbie April 21, 2007 Share April 21, 2007 i suppose the cheapest boxster is abt 230k+ -? A SLK 350 costs around 230 also.. hardtop.. but i would suggest the slk 200 due to its ability for resale.. listed as 197888. may be more worth it if u juz want a roadster for a couple of years.. ↡ Advertisement
