Calculation of OMV difference to car price

Have read before here that every $1 drop in OMV is multiplied by 2.3(?) times on car price, anyone have the formula on how this ratio is arrived at ? Tried looking at onemotoring but cannot arrive at this figure.

Additional Registration Fee (ARF) 110% of OMV

Excise Duty 20% of OMV

 

So, every $1 of OMV is 2.3x

Using the info you gave I got a ratio of 2.29x times, approx 2.3. Think the vehicle registration calculator at onemotoring.com does not include excise duty thats why...

GST insignificant to total car price. Just 5% on OMV & custome duty.
