Yokohama Tire Corporation will introduce the all-new S.drive at the 2006 SEMA Show. S.drive provides extraordinary grip and handling in sizes to fit the broadest range of sport sedans and coupes from Europe, Asia and North America, thanks to the latest in nanotechnology. Sizes are available to fit such popular vehicles as the BMW 3-series, Honda Civic and the Ford Mustang.

The S.drive is available in sizes to fit 15-20 inch wheels, in aspect ratios from 30-55 and in sizes up to 285/30R20 99Y. A total of 71 different sizes will available in 2007.

“According to tire testing, the S.drive performs better in both wet and dry conditions than the ES-100 it replaces and its competitors,” said Dan King, Yokohama’s director of sales, consumer products. “The S.drive is quieter, features more even wear and is available in a much greater range of sizes than the ES-100 and others in its class.” The double jointless belt cover on the S.drive allows 75 percent of the sizes to receive an ultra-high-speed Y rating.

An unbroken center rib maintains continuous road contact, improves lateral stability and

minimizes uneven wear while enhancing comfort. S.drive is equipped with four, wide circumferential grooves for enhanced wet traction, while angled groove walls optimize road surface contact and provide enhanced cornering traction. Yokohama engineers created a silica-based compound, using nanotechnology, to conform to the road surface,

maximizing grip in wet and dry conditions. Tiny scores within the tire groove walls, similar to sipes on the tire’surface, effectively distribute stress loads and further reduce uneven wear. “Yokohama pioneered the use of nanotechnology and the S.drive is the result of our developments using that innovation,” said King. S.drive

carries a treadwear rating of 300 for longer mileage and features Yokohama’s 30-day performance promise. Consumers can test drive the S.drive for 30 days and return them, if not completely satisfied, to receive a full refund.

This is the stock tyre i got from my honda jazz. Pretty quiet and good grip at corners although its 185/55/15, sidewall is not soft for such a thick profile, didn't use long though, changed to PP2 195/50/15 as the tyre is too thick for my liking
