instead of following civic's or selphy route to becoming a small "big" car think impreza goin the vw golf's route.

the competitor will change against i think the golf, the new fiat bravo, ford focus even mazda 3 rather then the usual civic sunny lancer mix.

whether it will suceed reali depends on consumer taste. in sg........ still think a 4 door sedan stand a better chance.

one of the reason y the "ts" wrx or the impreza was successful in sg coz its a four door sedan with turbo and 4 wheel drive. its easier to convince the wife or gf but if it become a hatchback then ... things such as. the boots can put the baby stroller meh? no "boot" later if accident how? all these things come along then in the end.... aiya juz buy the civic type R. or a lancer evo (comparing with wrx) at least it has a boots.

Performance sedan-> hot hatch.

Maybe Subaru got whipped baddly by hatchback by Ford Focus & citerin C4 in WRC & convince that hatchback is aerdynamically better for rally...

Now, on a good note . Less ah bengs will buy the new REX as its not "fierce" enuff which is good for Subaru image..

I shudder at the thought of what this may look like with aftermarket equipment stuck onto it!

The back-end of this reminds me of the old 1990s Rover used to produce in the UK. I think it was the 400 or 600 series. [thumbsdown]
