Wilb Clutched April 15, 2007 Share April 15, 2007 I think most models have that except for some 1.6 and below cars. if i am not wrong. I believe manufacturers put this feature in only higher end models because those cars are the luxury cars and of course they deserve all those features. While a normal car which is much cheaper, should not have much of this features. Other wise how come there is a difference between Luxury cars and normal cars. The "Class" factor. But i wouldn't be suprised to see them installed in cheaper saloons. Just like Climate control air con.
Mubarakrashid Neutral Newbie April 15, 2007 Share April 15, 2007 Hey bros, why did manufacturers only include such a feature in their higher end models? is it really tat hard to put this simple but useful feature in? that is why they (and u) called it higher end models.. basically, when u pay more, u get more.. Jacf Neutral Newbie April 15, 2007 Share April 15, 2007 it's not difficult but of cos extra materials & labour is required, some manufacturers want these controls to be more exclusive on higher end models ,prob 1.8 & above cars so tat buyers will feel more worthwhile & willing to come out with extra cash to buy higher end. the diff between high end and budget cars are not only in engine and exterior but also interior too. Friendstar Supercharged April 15, 2007 Author Share April 15, 2007 yes i understand that its the cost issue. but i mean, is it that costly? its just a few buttons on the steering wheel only wat. its like if they can include stuff like windows tinting (for toyota wish), why not simple feature like steering mounted controls. maybe some bros here would like to clarify that steering mounted controls are very very difficult to implement and robots cannot mount them but only humans can. i donno i'm just whacking some nonsense analysis. RadX Moderator April 15, 2007 Share April 15, 2007 It is an additional cost wrt the mounting and the wiring, so, whatever it is, it costs differently
