hi all, when buying a car, I like to read all the car reviews I can find on the model.

So anyone know which are the good car review web sites out there?

I usually go to:

www.parkers.co.uk

www.channel4.com/4car

Can add on to the list above? [;)]

cheers!

When u read car reviews, pls do note who are doing the write ups. A lot of reviews arebiased or written by people who get benefit out of teh article an hence become biased. they say the good and keep the bad.

Look at this forum itself. Almost all the reviews are good for every car review. While I beleive some are posted by actual car owners, I had to suspect some are done by car SEs [lipsrsealed]

Thanks but I'm looking for professional car reviews by car journalists (e.g. Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear), not those by car enthusiasts like you and me.

Simply based on the number of cars they have tested, I believe that they are more qualified to comment on the cars than many of us.

As for biases, everyone is biased. [;)]

So any addition to the web sites above is very welcome.

cheers! [:)]

TopGear? LOL their shows are nice to watch but they always support british cars - Jaguar and Aston Martins.

The best reviews are you right foot, butt, hands. Oh and also, just take the SE's talk with a lot of salt.

well, that's why I want to read up on as many car reviews as possible before I go test drive. Then at least I know which areas to look out for, be it the handling, ride comfort or build quality.

Put it this way, a test drive in Singapore is probably 10-15 mins long. You're still overwhelmed by the whole new experience to notice many of the faults, even on a repeat test drive. This is where the professional car reviews come in, as they have the car anything from a few hours to a few weeks.

Anyone know of any good car review web sites, pls let me know. Thanks!

Thanks, I generally tend to avoid US car web sites as I'm more familiar with UK cars. But Edmunds is quite good. [:)]

Edmund is a good website. If you are going for quality pictures, can try top gear.

But i dont really recommand US site, as our cars ( PI and Local distributor ) are mostly from Japan or Thailand. Features and specs may be different. For example the PI JDM accord is different from the one at KAH Motor, which are also different from the one at the US side. The US civic looks a bit like civic. Try Japanese website, they are a better source of car information, or some guy called paultan in Malaysia.

if u have a particular marque or model in mine, maybe u could go to that particular forum and see the posts from owners. For german marques, u can try GERMANCARZONE.com. for Audi, Merc, BMW, VW, etc

Yup paultan.org is good too, I like to read his reviews for the local flavour (Malaysia is close enough).

Any Japanese-centric web sites in English? The Jap web sites I found are in Japanese, no idea what they're talking about. So just ogle at photos and look at the specs. [:p]

Yup, I've tried that before.

They even have videoclips, but the narrator has a weird French accent [:p]. So I've always had the impression that it's run by angmohs living in Japan.

Any others ah? [:)]
