Rockstock Neutral Newbie April 10, 2007 Share April 10, 2007 i think the 676 is more suitable. read somewhere that if the cooler is too big u lose pressure..? I think you can find references on what models are suited to which sizes...

Boxster 2nd Gear April 15, 2007 Share April 15, 2007 Hi is your car happen to be an axio? Just interested in atf cooler does it helps to prolong the life of the transmission?
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear April 15, 2007 Share April 15, 2007 Normally, 1.5/1.6 cars would not need ATF cooler, unless you're into tracking? Even higher CC's would not really need ATF coolers too, unless high revs to redline are common.
Jchuacl Clutched April 15, 2007 Share April 15, 2007 A Wish owner ever said that he saw an ATF temp of 102 on his Bliz R-vit with City driving without the presence of an atf cooler. If I drive in City area, I normally see an ATF temp range from 80-86 (I've got a cooler in the car, same make but different model of car). While the atf cooler does bring down the temp in a range between 16-22, it is not an issue if the ATF is changed before it starts to breakdown. When the ATF starts to breakdown, will depend on the peak temp reached while driving and the fluid characteristics.
Boxster 2nd Gear April 15, 2007 Share April 15, 2007 Pardon my ignorance as I don't drive an auto car yet. May I know how is the ATF temp known ? Is it an additional display had to be installed or can be taken from the log data from OBD connection?
Jchuacl Clutched April 17, 2007 Share April 17, 2007 You'll need an OBD reader to view the information. The Blitz R-vit is quite a handy tool as it displays many useful diagnostic information. You'll find that you have the facts that can prove to be quite useful. If you own a JDM car, it is the cheapest reader that I know on the market. This is because the implementation of the OBD II for JDM cars is a little different as compared with the typical OBD II implementation.
