Bluenuts Neutral Newbie April 9, 2007 Share April 9, 2007 Let the scenario be on the expressway with three driving lanes. Driving 90km/hr on the extreme right lane consider a road hog? Driving 70km/hr on the center lane consider a road hog? Driving 50km/hr on the left lane consider a road hog? Or the car in front of you is driving slower than you consider a road hog? What's road hogging bro? ↡ Advertisement
Kozmix Neutral Newbie April 9, 2007 Share April 9, 2007 as long as you have a big gap infront of you, and someone is closing in behind you, you are road-hogging
Ncp91 1st Gear April 9, 2007 Share April 9, 2007 The extreme right lane is an overtaking lane. That should take precedence over what speed you choose do. You might not want to speed, but others might be in a hurry and want to take a chance with the 10% grey area error of margin that we believe that the TP allows us. If you want to do 90kph and the middle lane is too slow for you, use the overtaking lane to overtake and then change lanes back. I would deem the slow lanes for vehicles who have labelled speed limits of 50 or 60kph and can do no more than that. You can spot a fast lane hogger keeping pace with the car next to him in the middle lane, while a whole line of cars snakes behind him, unable to overtake even on the left, while he is blissfully motoring along at 90kph, thinking he is doing the whole world a favour limiting everyone to the speed he is driving at. That's exactly wat i'm toking abt. To top it off, it's driving 80kph, not 90kph the speed limit, on the right lane, abt the same as the next car on the center lane. WHY do they do that??? Good FC mah... I remember during the Shell challenge period, many cars like to do that. Cruising 80kph from east to west, even late in the night. Hoshi8 1st Gear April 13, 2007 Share April 13, 2007 to me...the 4th lane no matter how slow they drive...i will not consider them road hogging..... one thing i really hate and think it is road hogging is when lorries take lane 2, 3 and 4 on expressways as lane 4 lorries travel at 50km/h...lane 3 60km/h lane 2 70km/h....even though the lorries are not really wrong...but they are hogging alot of lanes!!! this is what i encountered most of the time in the morning at PIE.... should actually have a speed limit on lane 2 on expressways as well....should be..AT LEAST 80km/h whenever traffic permits.... road hoggers are hard to catch too....too hard to define....they can just pick up speed and drive off.... Cttp Neutral Newbie April 13, 2007 Share April 13, 2007 Here in sg ppl dun appreciate the multi-lane traffic. Most ppl tot can drive in any lane as long as they like. Some ppl even tot lane 1 max speed is speed limit... As long as driving slowest, pls keep to leftmost lane. If wanna overtake, then go lane 3 overtake lane 4 vehicles. If faster than lane 3, go lane 2. And so on till lane 1. This shd b e sequence. Not directly filter all e way to extreme right and tot u r the fastest...
